A long time ago, I posted a drawing. I had hastily taken a picture of it, and filled it with so many things that it was impossible to see. Then, I decided to retake the picture, but forgot about it for the longest time. Finally, here it is, still hard to discern. I've since learnt that a light pencil, while easy to erase, is also easy to miss.

The Nine Pursue the One
"The Riders seemed to sit upon their great steeds like threatening statues upon a hill, dark and solid, while all the woods and land about them receded as if into a mist." (The Fellowship of the Ring, Book 1, Chapter 12: Flight to the Ford, pg.278.)
This painting was done some time ago. It was inspired by the corresponding scene in Peter Jackson's film.

Late for Dinner
"'I am looking for someone to share in an adventure that I am arranging, and it's very difficult to find anyone.' (says Gandalf)
'I should think so- in these parts! We are plain quiet folk and have no use for adventures. Nasty disturbing things! Make you late for dinner!'" (The Hobbit, Chapter 1: An Unexpected Party, pg.7.)
Little did Bilbo know that he would be very late for dinner indeed.

The Leaning Tree
"Do not be hasty, that is my motto. But if I had seen you, before I heard your voices - I liked them: nice little voices; they reminded me of something I cannot remember - if I had seen you before I heard you, I should have just trodden on you, taking you for little Orcs, and found out my mistake afterwards. Very odd you are, indeed. Root and twig, very odd!" (The Lord of the Rings, The Two Towers, Chapter 4: Treebeard, pg. 604.)
Depicted here is Fangorn, who somberly inspects an uprooted flower, holding it close to his hooked nose. He carefully keeps it between two gentle gnarled fingers, and watches as it's petals slowly fall to the forest floor.

Autumn at Bag End
"It had a perfectly round door like a porthole, painted green, with a shiny yellow brass knob in the exact middle." (The Hobbit, Chapter 1: An Unexpected Party, pg.1.)
The autumn leaves blow by Bilbo Baggins' front door, swept away with the wind, beyond the little lawn of the well-respected Hobbit. Only all too soon will the owner of this well-kept home find himself like so.
